Grade 3 Learning Journey

On October 17, 2024 from 4:15-5:45 pm all grade 3 families are invited to Colonel Sanders School for the Grade 3 Learning Journey.

A Learning Journey is an opportunity for families to see what students are learning, how they are learning it, and where students are within their learning.

There is a special theme for the Grade 3 Learning Journey, which will be revealed later this week.

Please watch for a SchoolMessenger on Friday from your student's classroom teacher, as well as tickets which will be in your student's agenda on Friday.

There is no supervision between 3:38 pm and 4:15 pm. If you are picking up your student for this event, you must be at the school ready to pick up your student by 3:38 pm. The main door will open just prior to 4:15 pm. If there is a change in the after-school routine, please inform the school either through an agenda message, email to the classroom teacher, or phone call to the school.

This is not a drop off event, an adult (age 18 or older), must remain with the student in the school during the Learning Journey.

We look forward to seeing you at the Learning Journey on October 17, 2024.

Message from the Office

As a school, our job is to ensure that all 395 students are safe. At the end of the school day there is an important way that you can support this work.

At the end of the day, please do not take students out of any line. Teachers place students onto buses. They account for each student. If a student is removed from the line and the teacher was not informed, we then need to call parents and hold buses until we know the student is safe. This then causes our buses to be delayed. It is best if you write a note in the agenda to inform your teacher that you will be picking up your student. You can also call the school prior to 3:15pm to give this information to the office. The school's phone number is 403-777-6034.

Teachers would love to talk to their families, at the end of the school day when teachers are ensuring student safety by taking students to their buses is not the right time. Students who are being picked up are being supervised by our specialists at the ball wall. All teachers are busy ensuring student safety.

If you would like to talk to your student's teacher, please book an appointment. This could be done by emailing your teacher or writing a note in the agenda.

Lastly, on Friday, our school day ends at 1:15 pm. If you are picking up your students, please arrive promptly for 1:15pm.
