Since 1999, Family Literacy Day takes place every January 27 to raise awareness about the importance of working together as a family on literacy-related activities and reading. 

This year's theme is Make mealtime family learning time.

This website has several ways that you as a family could engage in literacy activities including reading connected to meal times, including a scavenger hunt in your pantry, reading recipes, cooking together, looking at ingredients lists and more!
