Upcoming School Year: 2026–2027

We need your support! We are hoping to increase the number of future Grade 2, 3, and 4 students who express interest in our program for the 2026–2027 school year.

Please share this information with friends and family who live within our designated lottery area and may be interested in our program.

We truly appreciate your support.

School Council Online Meeting

  • Tuesday, February 17, 2026
  • Time: 6:30–7:30 PM
  • Format: Online

At this meeting, the Colonel Sanders administration team will review School Planning and Family Engagement from the 2025–2026 school year. Feedback shared will help guide planning and priorities for the 2026–2027 school year.

Families are encouraged to share thoughts and experiences related to:

  • School goals and learning priorities
  • Communication between school and home
  • Family engagement opportunities and events
  • Opportunities for parent voice and involvement
  • Supports and programming that benefit student learning and well-being

Your input is valued and plays an important role in shaping our school’s future direction. View our School Council page for more details.

Report Cards

  • Tuesday, February 24, 2026 – Report cards will be viewable in your MyCBE account

Please ensure you review report cards prior to the Learning Conferences on February 26 and 27.

Comments support understanding of the Proficiency Levels (numerical indicators) selected to describe your child’s learning in each subject area.

Additional information:

  • Grade 3 and 4 students will receive comments from Music and French teachers
  • Grade 1 and 2 students will receive Music and French comments in June report cards
  • All students receive proficiency indicators for Music and French in both report cards

EAL Learners

Families of English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners will see:

  • E1: Initial assessment and first-semester strategies
  • Y1: Strategies planned for the second half of the school year

Some students may receive an EAL indicator instead of a numerical proficiency level. This indicates language development is impacting achievement in that subject area. Teacher comments explain current strengths and next steps in learning.

We look forward to connecting with families during the February 26 and 27 Learning Conferences.

Welcoming, Caring, Respectful, and Safe Learning & Work Environments

The Calgary Board of Education’s Administrative Regulation 6031 outlines expectations for maintaining welcoming, caring, respectful, and safe learning and work environments that respect diversity and foster belonging.

Parents and guardians play an important role in supporting this commitment. We encourage families to review AR 6031 to better understand these shared responsibilities.

As a Traditional Learning Centre (TLC), character education is a core focus of our program. Teachers and families model character through actions, language, and behaviour. This includes how we:

  • Navigate challenges
  • Greet and interact with others
  • Respect differing viewpoints

By modelling these behaviours, we support students in developing strong character and respectful relationships.
