Colonel Sanders students have had the opportunity to take part in several community events during the first four months of the school year. These opportunities support students in understanding that they are part of a larger community. Their classroom is one of four within their grade level, one of 16 within our school, one school within the Calgary Board of Education.

Students are learning that collectively we can do great things within our community. These actions begin within their classroom, grade level, school, city, and larger Canadian projects. Students have selected games for their classroom for blue dot days (days where it is too cold for outdoor recess), selected books for their classroom libraries, may have selected a non-uniform day for their grade level, collected funds as a school for our school's garden, collected food for the Calgary Food Bank, and collectively raised funds during the Terry Fox Run.

Families, thank you for supporting many of these initiatives! We couldn't do these things without you!

During the break, take time to play traditional games with your children, ones where time around the table looking at one another is the priority; where talking and togetherness with the people in your home is the priority

Enjoy the Winter Break! Take time to rest, relax, and laugh with your family!

Looking forward to seeing students on Monday, January 6, 2025.
