Remembrance Day Assembly

On Wednesday, November 8, 2023 4K and the  grade 4 choir will be hosting the Remembrance Day Assembly. The assembly will begin at approximately 10:35am, ending at approximately 11:15am.

We ask that all students wear their formal school uniform on this day. If students are Scouts or Guides, they are welcome to wear that uniform instead.

As well, all students will receive a Poppy sticker prior to the assembly. We will be collecting for the Poppy Fund. Teachers will be collecting the funds throughout the week. The Poppy sticker will be given to students prior to the assembly on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.

Winter Weather Coming to Calgary

It is very important that students come to school with outdoor clothing that is appropriate for the weather. The prediction for the coming week is a substantial change from the weather we have been having recently, so it is important that students have appropriate clothing at school. It is important for students to have a winter coat, snow pants, toque, mittens/gloves, and winter boots. They are outside at least twice a day. If students are not appropriately dressed for the weather they will be very cold when they are outside during the recess breaks. The only time students stay inside for recess breaks is when the temperature, including the wind chill, is -20C or colder

Message From the Office

As a school, our job is to ensure that all 370 students are safe. At the end of the school day there is an important way that you can support this work.

At the end of the day, please do not take students out of any line. Teachers place students onto buses. They account for each student. If a student is removed from the line and the teacher was not informed, we then need to call parents and hold buses until we know the student is safe. This then causes our buses to be delayed. It is best if you write a note in the agenda to inform your teacher that you will be picking up your student. You can also call the school prior to 3:20pm to give this information to the office. The school's phone number is 403-777-6034

Teachers would love to talk to their families, at the end of the school day when teachers are ensuring student safety by taking students to their buses is not the right time. Students who are being picked up are being supervised by our specialists at the ball wall. All teachers are busy ensuring student safety.

If you would like to talk to your student's teacher, please book an appointment. This could be done by emailing your teacher or writing a note in the agenda.

Lastly, tomorrow is Friday. Our school day ends at 1:20pm. If you are picking up your students, please arrive promptly for 1:20pm.
