Forms

Each year, schools have a variety of forms that parents / legal guardians are required to complete or review and update, some of which are paper and others online. In CBE, the forms in an online format are:

  • Demographic Verification - 2023-24 – This form includes your child’s personal information as well as parent / legal guardian contact information.
  • Citizenship Information Update - 2023-24 – This form becomes available if you change your child’s citizenship information on the Demographic Verification form.
  • Annual Authorization - 2023-24 – Combines the following forms:
    • School District Use of Personal Information - explains how CBE uses personal information in providing education services.
    • Consent for CBE Use of Student Information – provides an option to grant / not grant consent for additional use of student information by school/district and third parties.
    • Consent for Use of Student Information by News Media and Outside Groups (Third Party) - provides an option to grant / not grant consent for additional use of student information by outside groups and third parties

SchoolEngage is one of the applications found in your MyCBE account. This is the same account that you use to pay fees, view academic information, book school conferences, etc.

If you do not have a MyCBE account, on the MyCBE page click on Create a MyCBE Account. For online help refer, to MyCBE - Creating an Account (includes instructions and a video).

To complete these forms:

1 | sign in to your MyCBE account
2 | click on the SchoolEngage icon
3 | select the form
4 | complete or review and update the form
5 | click on Submit to send the form electronically to the school
6 | repeat steps 3-5 for each form

Please submit the Demographic Verification and Annual Authorization forms in SchoolEngage for your child by Monday, September 18. These forms are mandatory every year for Alberta Education to confirm student funding. Thank you for completing them.

School Safety

As a school, our job is to ensure that all 370 students are safe. At the end of the school day there is an important way that you can support this work.

At the end of the day, please do not take students out of any line. Teachers place students onto buses. They account for each student. If a student is removed from the line and the teacher was not informed, we then need to call parents and hold buses until we know the student is safe. This then causes our buses to be delayed. It is best if you write a note in the agenda to inform your teacher that you will be picking up your student. You can also call the school prior to 3:20pm to give this information to the office. The school's phone number is 403-777-6034.

Teachers would love to talk to their families, at the end of the school day when teachers are ensuring student safety by taking students to their buses is not the right time. Students who are being picked up are being supervised by our specialists at the ball wall. All teachers are busy ensuring student safety.
If you would like to talk to your student's teacher, please book an appointment. This could be done by emailing your teacher or writing a note in the agenda.

Lastly, tomorrow is Friday. Our school day ends at 1:20pm. If you are picking up your students, please arrive promptly for 1:20pm.

School Council

School Council would like to welcome back all students, staff and families to the 2023/2024

School council is a group of volunteers who help to provide things like: fun lunches (through Healthy Hunger website), extra resources for classrooms, art supplies, website subscriptions, sports equipment, library books, field trips and many other things! We want to let you know about some important events that will be happening in September.

Important Dates:

  • Friday, September 8 - Popcorn Sale at school. Please send $2 for your child to buy a bag of popcorn. (You can send extra money if you’d like them to buy a second or third bag)
  • Wednesday, September 13- First School Council Meeting. This will be both in person at the school and online on Microsoft Teams.
  • Thursday, September 21- Open House at Colonel Sanders. Before the Open house School Council invite families to bring a picnic meal and eat together outside of the school so we can get to know each other and prepare for a great year ahead. More details will be shared soon.
